Cache in Trash Out® (CITO) 2019 Season 1 just wrapped up, and what a success it was!

Although geocachers’ love for Mother Earth can’t be quantified, their ability to CITO sure can be. Here are some numbers to sum up CITO 2019 Season 1:

  • 1,607 total Events were hosted
  • 59 countries hosted 
  • “Attended” logs totalled 25,855, with the largest event logging 161 “Will Attends.”
  • If every person who attended a CITO picked up ten pounds (4.5 kg) of trash, geocachers across the globe cleaned up 258,550 pounds (117,276 kg) of trash. That’s almost 18 Tyrannosaurus rexes worth of trash!

Remember, this year, there are two CITO seasons with two separate souvenirs to earn. To earn the second CITO souvenir of the year, attend any CITO event during CITO 2019 Season 2.

Season 2 runs from Sunday, September 1 through Saturday, November 30, 2019. That includes all of September, October, and November.
